This is a tag going around, and since a few people have asked me about  my writing process (I find that incredibly flattering to be honest!), here it is!
Anyone interested, feel free to tag yourselves and answer the questions! Do leave a link to your post in the comments!
1. What are you writing?
Right now two short stories. One is a Sci-fi Romance and the other is a Dark Fantasy.
2. How does your work differ from others of its genre?
I honestly don’t know. I’ve been told my writing is like a mix of Sara J. Maas and Lauren Oliver, so you try to figure that one out.
3. Why do you write what you do?
Because I love it!
4. How does your writing process work?
- First I write an outline. Here’s some very nice examples in Word and Excel.
- Then, I write all scenes and chapters chronologically. I need order and sequence
(I’m a  Virgo.) - I love to revise and edit, so one or two days after I’ve written the first draft of a chapter, I’ll go back and revise it.
Yeah, I’m anal like that. - Then once I’m finished (usually in three months) I let it sit for a few weeks. Then I revise everything again.
- When I’m done, I submit the story to some five or six critique partners, make changes, and when everything is super pretty and perfect, I send it to a developmental editor.
- After that, it goes to a line editor, until finally, we get to the proof reader.
Yeah, I run tight quality controls.
5. Do you have any artistic pursuits besides writing?
I like to draw a lot. Look!
6. What literary character is like you?
I’m not gloating, but  Mark Watney from “The Martian” comes pretty close. In case you don’t know, I’m quite humorous, but at the same time, I like fixing things, and learning, and figuring ways to reach my goals. And that’s Mark right there, folks.
Sorry for not tagging myself, but I’m pretty new to blogging and I’m not sure what it means. (I have a rather confusing image of a small, bag-headed blogger being thrown around a wrestling ring and looking for his partner, but I’m assuming it must be something different.)
Anyway, just wanted to say it’s pretty amazing that you can write entire books. (No wonder you’re tired, as you mentioned in the other blog!) If I write 800 words at one sitting, I feel like I should lie down and rest for the next 3 days.
Oh yes, it’s definitely not easy. But totally worth it! And of course you can tag yourself! 😀
Wonderful schedule of writing and great drawing also 🙂
Thank you so much ^_^ You’re too kind.
You’re welcome Clara 🙂
You draw as well? Very nice!!!!
I do! Though I haven’t done it since forever.
I think that you need to do one of Jean Luc!
omg yes. Wearing nothing but a red tunic.
Well, I might have dressed him a bit differently. 😉 Forget Jean Luc, draw 7 of 9 instead. 😀
I wish 7 of 9 had gotten his own series.
I’ll get round to it soon. I like the illustration; it’s reminiscent of old Chinese art.
Editor, line editor and proofreader? You didn’t tell us you were made of money 😉
wow, your drawing is so cool !! I love the fact that you write because you love it 🙂 <3
Oh yes, that is basically the only reason!
:):)
I LOVED MARK WATNEY!! And while I was reading The Martian, his wit and intelligence did remind me of a few bloggers and on the top was you 😀 I swear I’m not lying!
Omg no way!!! Seriously!?? Yaaaassssss!
Yess seriously 😛 Well let’s see if Mr. Damon’s portrayal of Watney reminds me of you or not 😉
I frigging love your answers!!!
Ahwww thank you! <3
I like this idea. So I went ahead and wrote my own: https://djmorand.wordpress.com/2015/07/30/how-i-write/
Reblogged this on Dan Alatorre – AUTHOR.
I dunno how to “tag myself”, but I tried this challenge anyway. Hope it isn’t boring. https://deadendsolutions.wordpress.com/2015/12/29/how-i-write/
